Ways to Help Your Credit
It is easy to let your credit score slide if you are not careful. It is important to remember, however, that just because your credit score is low does not mean that it is unsalvageable. There are steps you can take to fix your credit score and allow you to get more affordable loans, or any loans at all.
The first step to take toward your better credit score is to clean up your credit report. In order to do this, you must first obtain a copy of your credit report. You are allowed one free credit report per year from each of the three major credit bureaus. You should get a copy from each of these three bureaus.
Your credit reports will probably have some inconsistencies and some inaccuracies. Once you have found these, report them to the respective credit bureaus and ask for them to be corrected. This is a great way to get back on track with your credit score. However, it is only the first step.
Once your credit report is back on track, it is time to start rebuilding your credit. One of the best ways to do this is to get a major credit card if you do not already have one. Retaining a low amount of debt and making timely payments on this card will help you increase your credit score.
